Fantastic experience: Excellent vets and staff. Always helpful. Would highly recommend

Negative experience: Poor vets which is a shame, the vets were great but of course all agency. You can tell it's a profit over care, the prices have shot up considerably. For a written perscription alone is came to £80 (£52 for the consultations and £28 for a signed piece of paper - their justification was printing and electricity costs, you do the math, glad I didn't ask for a receipt) . I have now joined a new vet in Barton, the pooch was well looked after, it was cheaper and much more personable, didn't feel like a cash grab which unfortunately lanes vets is. My opinion, but I think it's worth the 10 minute drive to leave lanes vets. God knows what they're charging poor people now who just want the best for their pets

Fantastic experience: I am very happy to bring my dog to this practice. I have complete trust in all of the vets and I know they give the best care to my dog. I feel listened to and my worries are addressed. Having a 24 hour emergency service is so important to me and I have had need to use it and been seen immediately. I would not take my dog to any other practice.

Fantastic experience: I recently had to put down my beautiful half Bengal cat Kofi age 14 after a tragic accident at home. Lanes Vets at Garstang showed such empathy and care . I was incredibly moved to tears on receiving a paw print and fur to remember her by. Also received a card a few days later to express their sympathy. The young female vet was lovely with her and us. Can’t remember her name we were too distressed. I have had to have pets euthanised in the past and have never known such kindness. Thankyou

Negative experience: I rang the out of hours as my dog was unwell the refused to see her because she wasn't registered there. I had to travel to Penwortham to see another vet sadly my dog died by the time we got there. Avoid lanes vets at all costs

Fantastic experience: Found a condition in my dog that was missed by another vets in blackpool. So glad we came to lanes vets on the of chance instead of risking taking my dog who was suffering to the emergency vet listed. Fitted us in when we really could have lost our dog. So thank you for saving the day.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Lanes Vets Garstang Sadly in March 2025 our very special Dog's health deteriorated and had to be put to sleep. All the staff at Lanes Vets were very caring and sympathetic. Lanes Vets sent us copies of our Dog's Paw prints without us asking for them which was very kind. Thank you Lanes Vets !!!

Negative experience: Horrible vet......went in for ear infection check, charged lots for check and prescribed two drops which are twice prices than others, didn't let us know the price before ,just open both bottles during the check up, refuse to give us prescription after, ask us go for another expensive consultation, horrible experience, avoid if you want get ripped off.....be cautious

Negative experience: Do not take your pet here, would not recommend to anyone. I brought my cat here for a check up, the vets told me everything was completely fine and she was a perfectly healthy cat, she just might need to get her teeth cleaned soon and that was the only health concern, that was minor. 3 months later, my cat wasn’t eating or drinking anything at all. I took her to the vets and they said she had a tumour on her stomach so big that they could feel it. Why was this not picked up on at her last vets visit 3 months earlier? If the tumour was so big they could feel it, surely this hadn’t only developed in 3 months and this should have been picked up on. She was an elderly cat but even still, 3 months previously I was told she was in perfect health and then I had to have her put down because the tumour was so big in her stomach that it caused her to be unable to eat or drink water and there was nothing the vets could do because she was an older cat. Complete negligence on the vets side and if this had been spotted earlier, maybe my cat would still be here!

Negative experience: Extremely unhelpful.

Fantastic experience: Great vets, took my dog after he got attacked, they stitched him up and looked after him. He has healed so well and can only just see the scars, thank you for all you did and for taking care of my dog.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for the care and attention given to our baby girl Tia today, we, and she new that enough was enough when we said goodbye, she was so brave but I am sure that was helped by your care (sorry, I can't remember the name of the specific vet, as we were in bits). The vets at Lanes are so brave too, euthanasia is not an easy task, especially for lovers of animals. You came to our car and she left in our arms ... Thank you so much for your understanding, care and compassion x

Negative experience: Garstang location, I was very disappointed and even annoyed when we went to visit a very ill dog from a rescue that used the vets. When we spoke to the vet she was pretty insistent that we put the dog down even though she brightened up and was walking about wagging her tail, so we said no, the vet was still insistent on putting her down saying the bill would increase by a lot if they carried on treatment, again we said no. One of the other volunteers for the rescue said if she is going to die I will take her home with me so she will be surrounded by love to which the vet replied that if she did take her she would have her arrested for animal cruelty? What is this woman doing as a vet ? I would never ever take one of my dogs to this vet practice

My current two love parading for them and getting head bumps! I wouldn’t trust any other vets with my cats. Ever.

Fantastic experience: Saw us at short notice as no appointments available at Cottam where I usually go. The vet we saw was very friendly, thorough, and explained everything well, answering all of my questions. Very happy with the care we received.

Fantastic experience: Lane vets are the best vets in garstang. We have been to other vets and nothing compares to the advice the vets give. They also treat the animals with respect.

Negative experience: Was gutted with the lack of support I received. No guidance given, no remorse, I needed some antibiotic refills but they refused. They gave me their reasons but personally I disagree. The main vet I use that was over 2 hours away ( I was living at uni) advised me to ask local vet for top up. Showed all evidence. Was turned away empty handed with no support. Left me driving over 2 hours and had to hand over my assistance dog to leave at the vets because I couldn't get the treatment sooner which resulted to my assistance dog's condition worsened. Now moved home from uni because it's not safe for me to live at uni without my assistance dog. Disappointed.
