Our comment from InfoVet about The Woodley Vet:
The Woodley Vet is a veterinary practice dedicated to providing necessary care to pets while striving for an exceptional service experience. Many customers commend the practice for its caring and knowledgeable staff who are often described as friendly and professional. Positive experiences include thorough examinations and effective treatments that have significantly benefitted pets over the years.
However, there have been reports of inconsistency regarding the quality of service. A number of clients expressed dissatisfaction with poor communication from reception staff, long wait times, and the overall treatment provided during critical visits. Specific instances of misdiagnosis or lack of proper follow-up have led to discouraging experiences that have upset pet owners.
Despite some negative feedback, the practice has numerous loyal clients who appreciate the reasonable pricing and effort made by the vets during difficult times. The Woodley Vet team continually seeks to improve, responding to reviews and maintaining a focus on enhancing the quality of care for both pets and their owners.

The Woodley Vet: Reviews
Negative experience: We have come in on multiple separate occasions for different problems with our miniature dachshund and everytime the vet doesn’t have a single clue as to what is wrong. They have even turned to us before to ask what we think is wrong, which you’d think if we knew we wouldn’t be there… they then later come to the conclusion of ‘I think something is wrong but I don’t know what’ proceeding to give us £80-100+ worth of medication for an unknown diagnosis… the vets seem to be very inexperienced and therefore extremely unhelpful. This is not just a once or twice experience, it is every single time we go in. They weren’t even able to diagnose our dogs multiple broken ribs which we later discovered through another vet. Shocking and would avoid at all costs.
Dear Maia Andrews,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Following our telephone conversation to discuss the concerns raised, we are pleased to confirm that your dog has responded well to the prescribed medication. As discussed, this resulted in clinical improvement, and you confirmed that you did not wish to take the matter further.
In light of this outcome, we respectfully disagree with the implications of the negative review and are satisfied that appropriate care was provided, resulting in a positive outcome for your dog.
Best wishes,
The Woodley Vet
Negative experience: Avoid. So many issues at that veterinary practice. Little care. Rude and unprofessional staff. Negligence. Suggesting further surgical procedures that was not required - and at an additional £2k charge. Totally avoid!!!
Dear Vicki B,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are committed to providing the best care and service to all our patients. While we do not feel this review reflects the care provided, we take any concerns seriously and would be happy to discuss this further or investigate the matter. Please feel free to contact us directly.
Best wishes,
The Woodley Vet
Fantastic experience: They cared for our cat, Kafka, during his last few years, and when he became unwell at sixteen, they helped him pass away with dignity and kindness. During the euthanasia process, they considered his needs and ours at the same time. Nothing ever felt like a task to finish - they created space for us to feel, sometimes with tears in their own eyes. It was a very fragile time for Kafka and for us, and they never added to that fragility. It is a comfort to know that there are still people who genuinely value the work they do.
Thank you so much for sharing these kind words about Kafka’s care. We are deeply sorry for your loss and truly honoured to have been part of his journey. Your trust in us and your appreciation reminds us why we do what we do every day.
Fantastic experience: Dr Brogan Patrick and the whole reception team was very kind and professional at our difficult times with our cat. During the entire process they showed great value and shared our feelings. I cant recommend them highly enough!
Thank you so much for your review. Your words and recommendation are deeply appreciated by the whole team, and please remember we’re always here if you need anything in the future.
Fantastic experience: They are the best vets in the area, really great and friendly customer service, reasonable prices and you can tell the team they have really do care about your pets. I dealt with Rachel when i had an emergency with my cat and she was so sweet and supportive and it all got sorted out asap. Really amazing and have been here numerous times over the years with my cats, would rate it more stars if i could
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you’ve had such positive experiences with our team over the years, emergency visits are always stressful and we try our best to make things as smooth as possible. We look forward to being here for you and your cats whenever you need us!
Fantastic experience: Friendly, very helpful and there’s nothing they wouldn’t do to help you.
Your 5-star review made our day—thank you for your support!
Negative experience: Brought in a bird for simple beak and nail clip, dead in 5 minutes - 0 stars. I brought my pet bird for a routine claw/beak trim, expecting a careful manual trim with an assistant's help. The vet didnt seem to even know about placing a stick a bird’s mouth, clipped her beak too short and bled (had never happened before at home). Staff then took her to a back room and from what I later witnessed sedated her without my consent— with no risks or alternatives were discussed. She died within minutes leaving my son distraught. Just as a reality check, UK research clearly shows avian anaesthesia carries real risks (≈4% anaesthesia-related mortality; risks rises sharply in unwell or older birds, up to ~15.5× higher). They should be consulting owners, explaining risk and given the choice; and if there are age/health concerns (as the vet later claimed), sedation for a basic grooming procedure should be avoided. I could not possibly recommend this practice for avian care. Caveat Emptor, you’ve been warned, I hope they treat other animals better… Interestingly reading other reviews it seems over-use of anaesthesia killing otherwise healthy animals is quite common. Great for Euthanasia though I guess…?
We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and the loss of your beloved bird. Please accept our sincere condolences — we understand how devastating this must be for you and your family, especially your son. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns and to offer any support we can.
Fantastic experience: Great practice - friendly, efficient and helpful. Have to drive a bit further than my local vets but worth it.
Thank You Gin, we appreciate the kind comment and review. Kind Regards, Easipetcare Reading.
Fantastic experience: I had the very, very sad duty of putting my best friend of 17 years and two months to sleep and I was devastated. Woodley Vets could not have handled it better, later when I picked up her ashes the urn came in a very nice box with a lovely message on the front and card inside and that was put in a very nice carrier bag. I just can't praise them enough. Thank you Woodley Vet.
We’re truly sorry you had to say goodbye to your beloved companion. It’s never easy, and 17 years together is such a special bond. Thank you for your kind words about the care you received during such a heartbreaking time. We’re honoured to have been there to support you, your trust in us at such a tender moment is something we don’t take lightly. Our thoughts are with you.
Warmest wishes,
The Woodley Vet Team
Negative experience: My Mum and I urgently took our dog to the vet 1/9/25 around 6pm due to difficulties breathing and she wasn’t seen for over half an hour. We then got taken in by a rude vet, she didn’t mention her name but she had a long sharp chin with a permanent bump on her forehead, had brown hair. She insisted we put the muzzle on as she doesn’t want to get bitten (she’s the professional) and timed her heart beat on her personal phone, this concluded into nothing can I say. I was in disbelief the whole time because of the attitude coming from her. She proceeded to tell us she’s getting another vet and simply disappeared! The second vet was lovely, sympathetic and human like. Found what was wrong after listening to the heart for seconds and unfortunately she did have to get put down during this visit. If the visit started of more gentle, I wouldn’t have had a bad word to say. If she’s not happy where she works maybe she needs to leave!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we are truly sorry for the distress you felt during such a difficult visit. We understand how important it is to feel supported and treated with compassion, especially in urgent and emotional situations. Your feedback is being taken seriously and will be shared with our team so we can continue to improve our service. We’re grateful for your kind words about the second vet, and we’re so sorry for your loss. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
The Woodley Vet Team
Fantastic experience: The staff are really professional, caring and knowledgeable. They are always happy to help and support with any issues pet related. Really happy with the treatment and the care our two cat have received. Absolutely recommended.
Negative experience: Our dog died just hours after visiting this vet I took our dog to The Woodley Vet (Easipetcare) Woodley with sickness and diarrhoea. The vet saw him in the morning, and gave him an injection and some medication to take home. By that afternoon he was a lot worse, with liquid diarrhoea containing blood. I telephoned them and they agreed to see him again. The same vet checked him over, told me he should recover within 24 hours and just needed to rest at home. At this stage he was so weak I had to carry him out to the car. Within just a few hours, our dog had died. This vet did not carry out sufficient tests on him to establish why he was so ill, or suggest keeping him in. He was not an elderly or sick dog - just 5 years old. Please do not risk taking your precious animals to this vets, it's not worth the risk. We trusted them, and our family is now devastated.
Fantastic experience: A very well run practice. Lovely staff, clear information and well priced. The staff are superb to.
Negative experience: A distressing experience during a heartbreaking time I’m writing this in the hope it helps others make informed decisions when choosing care for their pets. My experience with Easipetcare in Woodley was extremely upsetting, both in terms of the care my pet received and how difficult it has been to raise concerns afterward. When my beloved Sandy suffered a head injury and was unresponsive, I took him to Easipetcare. Despite his serious condition, we were sent home with painkillers and antibiotics, having paid £350 and been given a sense of hope. Sadly, Sandy showed no improvement—there was no life in his eyes, and he remained unresponsive. When I called the following Monday, I was told further blood tests would be needed (£80) and results would take another two days. I couldn't bear the thought of prolonging Sandy’s suffering, so I took him to Beechwood Vets instead. They immediately recognised the severity of his condition and diagnosed a brain injury. Within five minutes, we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go. To make matters worse, Easipetcare’s complaints procedure requires everything to be put in writing. There's no opportunity for a face-to-face conversation during an already emotional time. This approach felt cold and corporate, with no space for empathy or accountability. This has been a deeply painful experience, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope sharing it helps encourage more compassionate care and better communication when people are facing the loss of a beloved pet.
Fantastic experience: Ovi and the team were great. They not only looked after Rocco but they also looked after us with updates. Thank you all for your great service.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so happy to hear that you and Rocco felt well cared for during your visit. Ovi and the whole team always strive to keep both our patients and their families informed and comfortable. Your feedback means a lot to us—please give Rocco a hug from all of us!
Fantastic experience: We went with our guinea pigs and cat..always get good service and very good prices... definitely recommend
Negative experience: My dog had a small scap size of pea . I just wanted them to have a quick look to let me know my doggy was OK small tube of cream and 2 minutes work cost me £105 pounds never again I'll put sudo cream on next time
Fantastic experience: Wounderful staff .. helpful kind caring . Vets are amazing anka was truely a most wounderful person. Couldn't ask for a better vet
Fantastic experience: Reading Easipetcare is the best Vet to go to with your pets. They take great care of my cat Pixie and are very good value for money. Ioana is one of the best vets I've seen, she is a lovely person ❤️
Negative experience: We brought our elderly cat to Easypetcare Woodley as we were concerned about his health. The Vet ran a full set of bloods that showed that he was very unwell. The Vet advised that they have no appointments for 3 days for euthanasia but that he would be fine for this time and would not suffer. Unfortunately, our cat took a turn for the worse the next day, prompting a trip to an out of hours Vets who reviewed his bloods and were shocked that Easypetcare had said 3 days was acceptable. They suggested we make a formal complaint as our cat suffered needlessly due to their incompetence. Please do not take your sick pets here.
Fantastic experience: The vet and veterinary nurses were very caring and kept me informed throughout the stay of my cat
Fantastic experience: This was my my first visit to Easipetcare Reading for a long lime and I was very happy with the service there. The vet was very helpful in explaining what my dog needed. There was no sense of hurry. I will definitely be continuing to use this Vetinary service. 0
Negative experience: One of the veterinary clinics that we used to frequent has unfortunately declined in quality since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff's professionalism has diminished, and they have been closing the veterinary clinic ten minutes before the scheduled closing time. Additionally, they have been unresponsive to phone calls, with wait times of up to ninety minutes to speak to someone. We have since moved to another veterinary practice that provides better care for our animals, although it comes at a slightly higher cost. However, we have learned from multiple sources, including other veterinary hospitals, about the concerning practices and alleged cruelty at Easipetcare. Furthermore, we have discovered a potential breach of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when an acquaintance of ours visited the clinic and was provided with the name and surname of our dog without our consent. This incident is currently under investigation, as it was recorded by our acquaintance due to the unprofessional service they received during their scheduled vaccination appointment. In light of these issues, we strongly advise against using Easipetcare and recommend seeking services from a more reputable veterinary practice that prioritizes the well-being of your animals.
Negative experience: The vet made me feel like I bought my kittens in for nothing. They had yellow diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite. She made me feel stupid for bringing them in, day after my appointment! the kittens had blood in that diarrhea. The solution they suggested only worked for 7 days and the same symptoms resurfaced and they said the suggestions are trial and error, what works for one doesn't work for another cat, (guess work ) Go elsewhere or book another appointment for them! plus diarrhea with blood is pretty common in cats?? if your pet is unwell, please spend that few extra pounds and take them somewhere your not back to square one within days.
Fantastic experience: I find this vetinary practice really good now, the vets very experienced with animals and their ailments. The premises are always very clean and well kept. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Fantastic experience: I have always received an excellent standard of care and support from the vets and reception team for all 4 of my cats! Thank you for being kind, considerate and generally awesome
Dear Kirsty, thank you so much for your kind words, this is really good to hear. We always look forward to seeing you and your four-legged friends. Thank you from the entire team! Kind Regards, Easipetcare Reading
Negative experience: Atrocious customer service from both the Vet and receptionist. They forget to send you worming and flea treatments then make you book a 10min (useless ) consultation from a Vet that showed no ounce of care for our cat of £70 without telling you the price beforehand. The Receptionist does not take responsibility and also does not hesitate to lie to you, I drove 30min there and asked if I can pick up the flea treatments which is overdue for our cat. She says both Vets were busy in emergencies even though I noticed from corner of my eye a vet holding a back pack about to go home. So she expects me to drive 30min back home and then come back another day to pick up the flea treatment then expect us to pay £70 (which they did not mention about before hand) for a consultation that wouldn’t have happened if they had sent the Flea and Worming like they were supposed to! No empathy or care, they are only there to lie to you and scam you of your money so please beware everyone when choosing this Vet
We’re sorry to hear you aren't satisfied with the service you received. We always take any feedback seriously, so we would very much appreciate you getting in touch directly to allow us to investigate this fully.
Please could you kindly email us on [email protected] so our client care manager can further investigate. Kind Regards, Easipetcare Reading.
Negative experience: Our first 2 appointments with easier pet care were both cancelled, the 2nd (and last time)was 15minutes before our appointment, we were on the way with our pup for his first vaccinations, the receptionist couldn't have cared less that we were on the way, no explanation and no apology. When I called to say I was disappointed and would like to cancel our pet plan, they didn't care either. I should have known from our first visit when it was cancelled on the morning of the appointment and whenever I asked for information at the reception desk I was met with shirt replies of "you can look online, you can do it online" wish i wouldn't have wasted my time giving them more of a chance and should have went with our initial experience. The ONLY positive from our experience was the veterinarian being friendly. Now looking elsewhere.
Negative experience: TERRIBLE TERRIBLE vet surgery. AVOID at all costs, you only have to read the reviews to see for yourself. Rude receptionists, absolutely no empathy at all. It used to be a fantastic vets until it changed hands, terrible experience had and would not return EVER
Fantastic experience: Would not go to any other vet by far the most honest vets you will meet with friendly staff. Straight to the point with everything and just do everything so much better than the mainstream known vets!
Negative experience: If i could give this place a 0 star i would. My little Paterdale Millie was put down at the start of November last year, the receptionist walking in mid way through with the card machine to ask for payment was "what they do apparently" to save any payment at the end or upset, i don't know what is worse. Actually being over charged for a cremation i never asked for, which caused me to judge the final bill payment. This was right at the end of the the day, so they were closed, they couldn't of rushed me and my mum out of there any quicker actually mopping over our feet while cleaning the floor, we clearly left distraught. I contacted them 3 times to try and sort out the payment for millie and was told i would be phoned back and never was. Tuesday this week i was phoned by the receptionist patricia who stated there was a outstanding bill for millie which i knew and never denied, i just wanted to be charged for what i paid for. I was then ask what do you want us to do with Millie!!!!!!!!! My reaction what do you mean?? where is she?? to be told "shes in our freezer" I then had the phone hung up on me, i phoned back in a state and asked why has she not been cremated and had the phone put down on me again causing me to ring my brother getting him to phone. He phoned and explained that he was my brother and the he would like to speak to the lady who put the phone down on us twice regarding the dog in the freezer.......she hung up on him too!!!! I ended up going down there in a state, my distraught mum ended up coming to speak with them as i couldnt look at them any longer to enquire why they had millie in the freezer and was told there was a outstanding bill. We were told to come back wednesday at 11.30 to get a signed confirmation that millie would be collected by a third party and cremated as she should have been, and payment would be sorted when the general manger was back from maternity leave. I then arrived to be told she wouldn't be picked up and they wouldn't release her until the queried payment was made. I stated "i will go and get her myself if you don't release her to me as you said you would" I then had the police called on me. I managed to get dignity crematorium to collect her after they agreed with the police to release her and the payment would still be held against me. I wasn't allowed to wait for her to be collected and say goodbye and had to go to the local coffee shop until they phoned me to say dignity were here for millie. I arrived again and wasn't allowed in and taken round by the back door where the van was waiting. The receptionist then went back inside leaving the acting manager and a vet to bring millie out, they gave her to the driver turned round and shut the back door she was in a hard bed her paw hanging over and her face visible to see through the gaps she was not covered in a correct manner like i would have though any animal should be having being left in a freezer for nearly 5 months and the owner having to see and re-live this disgusting event. I walked back in and did raise my voice as to why wasn't she covered up properly to the useless receptionist replying "she wasn't covered up properly??" I stated that now i am taking things further and they all deserve everything that is coming to them. The staff are awful, rude, unsympathetic and i would not take a worm to this vets ever again!!! This has been publised this week and i am seeking legal advice in making sure nobody or no animal has to go through what me and my family have and the way we have been treated!!! Dont think i need to say anymore!!!
Fantastic experience: Years ago this practice saved my black lab freya who ate a peach kernal. Today I had to have my cat put down and the practice was both kind, thoughful and went above and beyond to console us. Patricia (or patrizia) the blonde receptionist helped so much and was empathic and so helpful throughout the whole process
Thank you so much for your kind words, we send our deepest condolences in regards to Merlin and wish you all the best.
Fantastic experience: My dog needed to be put to sleep. The vet and nurse were exceptional and couldn't have been more supportive. My gorgeous girl got a very peaceful send off in a cosy environment where I could lie with her.
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with misinformation given at point of appointment making for my dog to be spayed. I spent 35 minutes in traffic this morning to get to the appt for 0800, with a stressed out dog vomiting in my car to be told I 'should' have been advised to wait for 3 months after she had come off heat as there are is a higher chance of complications. I clearly wasn't going to risk complications. If I'd known that I wouldn't have booked it & wasted my time. I am so cross that I stressed & starved my dog for nothing, not to mention stressing my other dogs for taking her away from them. You need to do much better.
Negative experience: Treated with no empathy by the vet Anka today, vet couldn't find my dogs medical records however the receptionist could. Made to feel like a liar, not interested in what I had to say about my dogs condition, old dog with dementia, incontinence and passing blood. Happy to take payment though for 5mins consultation that made both of us feel worse. Will re-register at my previous clinic who shows empathy. 1 star is for the receptionist, Anka needs training in listening and compassion.
Negative experience: Shocking care by the vet practice, they advised us that my brothers kittens would receive flea and worming treatment during their visit to the vets. However this didn't happen due to the kittens getting fleas! Once my brother contacted the practice they offered a free treatment, however he was already paying for the 365 plan, therefore this isn't a free treatment, it's treatment he'd already paid for? Luckily the kittens seem ok and they've spend a lot of money treating the house and kittens. I myself have a cat and a dog and I'm horrified to hear of this incompetence, I'd be concerned if I took my pets to this practice
Negative experience: I will not recommend this company of the vet I make the appointments for 8 kittens from one month in front and I noticed today because they canceled the appointments because they said: send me a letter because they tried to contact me, no phone calls no emails regarding the appointment cancellation. They are not serious and I got problems now because not easy to find appointments to vaccinate the kittens on time.
Fantastic experience: I recently took Reggie to the Reading branch. The staff were professional, warm, and attentive. Their care for Reggie was exceptional, making us both feel at ease. Highly recommend this branch for top-quality veterinary care." Is this concise enough for you?
Negative experience: I've used these vets for years now, and we've always had a positive experience. I would have given these guys a 5 star rating if i hadn't gone there during the week. Even when we've had to have our pets put to sleep over the years, they have always been incredibly sensitive and comforting. However, I made an appointment with them the other day as one of our cats suddenly deteriorated. The vet was incredibly impatient with us. Absolutely disgusted with her attitude, especially as we had to prepay for the appointment. Our cat was literally at deaths door, and she was rushing us. There are just no words for how she made us feel. I really hope we never have to see her again as I will never allow her around any of our pets ever again.
Negative experience: This vet used to be really good but the past few years it had gone really downhill but prices have kept going up! Recently had terrible experiences, put in a complaint after dogs surgery. After 2 months I never received a reply and then was fobbed off with excuses on all points made. After nearly 10 loyal years we are now moving vets and due to my experience the two friends who came here after my reccomendations years ago are also now moving.
Negative experience: I hate to give such a bad review of this place as I previously had good experiences with them but my last visit was very upsetting, I took my dog to them with a suspected grass seed stuck in his eye, I went in just after my son went in only to have her ranting to my autistic son about my dog being a bit over weight & that it was abuse, we tried to explain he’d been staying at my Dads & he’d been spoiling him, she didn’t take any notice & kept going on, she said she couldn’t see anything in there, gave him an anti inflammatory injection, a tiny tube of stuff for conjunctivitis then we were charged £140 and then sent us on our way, i wasn’t happy with that diagnosis so I went to a vet nurse friend of my dads a week later who spotted the seed straight away & managed to to get out. Absolutely ridiculous!
Fantastic experience: Reception staff always helpful when asking for urgent appointments for my two elderly pet persian boys. The veterinarians even more helpful, and they don't get you to pay out for unnecessary procedures. The overall cost of visits is manageable, and when i send in my claim forms, they are always turned around really quickly to the insurance company. I have already highly recommended Easipetcare, Woodley specifically, as is our local vets practice, and will continue to do so on any local help forums, whereby there may be requests for best vets practice to go to. Thankyou Easipetcare Woodley.
Negative experience: I’m heavily pregnant and arrived 5 mins late due to having to register my car on the pay and display, after being greeted by a very obnoxious receptionist I was turned away for my dogs vaccinations and sent on my way in floods of tears as I’ve never been spoken to like this by someone from a professional establishment. we’ve been with this vet for years as well as 6 of my family members, after this we will not be returning nor will we ever give positive feedback. I think you may need to send Patricia your receptionist on a customer service course.
Fantastic experience: Good low cost vets. The vets are always friendly and are respectful of my naughty terrier, we've been coming here for nine years with her not had any issues. They also look after my rabbit and are knowledgeable about them. They also arrange referrals, so if you’re pet does have something serious that they can’t fix they would refer them to the best place for your pets needs…
Thank you so much Nicola for your kind words.
Negative experience: Used to find this place affordable and friendly and generally a quality vets ,how ever in recent years it has gone down hill dramatically. In my opinion the service I have received for my beloved pets when taken there has been sub standard if not careless. I've had 2 separate occasions where my animals have had to be put to sleep after poor care from the vets and they made sure to squeeze every penny they could in both occasions . Other family members have also had animals treated here for years and have found the quality of vets has deteriorated . There's always different people in there treating the animals and whilst it's a training vets I feel they couldn't care less about their patients . I also find it ridiculous that they claim to be money friendly and refuse any sort of payment plans for pet treatments . Full payment is expected then and there and they give no other options. If you can't afford it they are very cold towards you and have very little understanding . Overall I won't be returning to this vets an nor shall many people I know after they have experienced the same .
Dear S, we are sorry that you weren't satisfied with your recent experience with us and would welcome any further feedback to [email protected]. There is an industry wide shortage of vets and we do have locums who occasionally work with us which is why you might not see the same vet each time, but we are working hard to recruit more permanent vets.
Fantastic experience: We took our cat for a booster jab and annual check up...the vet could not have been more informative and thorough. Would recommend, as we were impressed with the service
Thank you so much Diane
Negative experience: awful vet practice, visited several times about my cat having uti and concerned for health they didn't do anything said it was stress when it was infact she had one kidney which they should of felt when looking her over. she died 4 months later. it could of been preventable. the wait times is awful, really rude staff. Still get texts about my dead cat 4 months later. do not go here.
We take customer feedback very seriously and we are sorry that you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services. Should you wish to discuss your concerns with us in more detail we would welcome the opportunity - if you are happy to do so please email us at [email protected]
Fantastic experience: We recently had an emergency with our senior dog, Easipetcare saw us within 30mins of my call. They examined her thoroughly and took great care of her, she was looked after well beyond closing until they could get us a suitable referral. The staff were fantastic, I can’t fault the team at all. I would highly recommend this vets. Superb.
Dear SM thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Our team will be delighted that you gave us 5*s :-)
Negative experience: Had to take my cat as she was very poorly. Nice vet but had to wait half an hour and paid £135 for a 10 min consultation. update - Had to take my cat back today so I rang for an appointment. The receptionist stated they didn't have any for the rest of the week. This was on a Wednesday. The receptionist was SO rude. It was as if I was interrupting her very important discussion about love island. Go to Kline vets instead. Do much better and cheaper too. Also not not eager to put your pet down.
Thank you for your review Gill. We are sorry to read that you had a wait for your appointment.
Fantastic experience: Special thanks to Anca who is a truly wonderful vet and person. Thank you for looking after our Bentley who sadly came to the end of the road today. This would have happened years ago had it not of been for her commitment and skill. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for your review Matthew, we really appreciate it and we will share your feedback with Anca :-)
Negative experience: The vet suggested an operation on my dog’s knees. I decided to get them x-rayed (at a whopping £450 cost) to find out how bad his knees were and whether he needed the op urgently. They emailed the x-rays and the cost for the operation without any explanation of their findings. I have been told to pay an extra £124 to get a written interpretation! They never mentioned this when I booked the x-ray. What is the point of an x-ray if they don’t explain their findings!
Dear Zara, Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to read that you weren't happy with the service you received at the practice. Clearly the team need to improve their communication on price and treatment options available to you. We will share your feedback with the team but should you wish to make a formal complaint please do so in writing to [email protected]. Kind regards, easipetcare
Fantastic experience: I just turned up recently with my injured cat, Maggie. They saw us immediately. . The veterinary nurse was lovely; very good with Maggie and sorted out her treatment quickly. I was in and out within about 10 minutes with no stress to Maggie at all. They’ve always been great here, but this was exceptional. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, and their prices. Thank you.
Dear Joanna, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate it! Best wished to Maggie
Fantastic experience: My vet was fantastic lovely lady who cared for my dog Teddy. She really did have a duty of care & loving approach towards Teddy. She was so kind & caring ... she honestly was the best vet I have seen in many years. I was delighted with her care & support. Teddy my dog is looking much better ... I have a happy dog again ... thanks to this lady vet .. AMAZING lady ❤️
What a lovely read thank you so much Natalie for your kind words! We will be sure to share your feedback with our team :-)
Negative experience: I felt like scammed. I bought a plan and 2-3 months later they have changed the terms of the plan and removed the 1 free consultation from their plan. It was the key term when I have decided to buy. And now I want to cancel, they want all the prices as they are selling separately and the cost is almost the same as the plan. so I really don't recommend this vet. it is totally a disappointment.
Dear Ahmet, we are sorry that you have felt mislead or let down by our 365 Plan. The plan inclusions were changed in September 2022 when we launched home delivery for plan customers. We didn't take the decision lightly to remove the free consultation benefit; we had to make some sacrifices to be able to facilitate home delivery whilst still making the plan affordable to our customers. We actually absorb the delivery charges for you. The plan is now actually better value than it ever was, even without the free vet consult. Staying on the plan really is the most affordable way to care for you pet. A single vaccine alone costs £49.99 which is the cost of a dog being on the plan for over 3 months and the plan includes home delivery for flea and worming treatment. Even if you only had the annual booster and f+w for a year you would save over £60 by being on the plan compared to pay as you go. If you woudl like any further information please do not hesitate to give a member of your local practice team a call.
Negative experience: Staff are very rude. There not very clear On the results I had for my dog half of it wasn’t spelt right I was told my dog was going to die and paid £600 for 2 blood test! On the first they told me he could have liver failure after the second blood test they told me there’s nothing wrong with him and there could be a dog on heat. I’ve now moved vets!
Negative experience: This star rating is purely based on the treatment by reception staff, in particular Sarah. I had an appointment booked for 2pm, with email confirmation with me just in case. She couldn't find me on the system and was really rude about it, and in general very unwilling to help - despite the fact I had already paid and booked for vaccinations online. Considering this was my first visit to the vet, I would expect better treatment. If I hadn't taken the afternoon off work I would've been really tempted to walk straight out. I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen, and it has to be said that the separate cat waiting room is a joke - everyone is in the same small waiting room without enough space to sit down, and cats and dogs are all together. All of the animals looked very stressed. I was seen by Ioana who was amazing with my cat - an amazing vet.
Fantastic experience: Everything about easipetcare in Reading is superb. The receptionists are friendly, the vets caring and knowledgeable, the price reasonable. I'd recommend them to other pet owners any day.
Negative experience: Unacceptable wait time for answering their phones, called three times to cancel an appointment with a total wait time of 90 minutes, still didn't get through to talk to anyone. Receptionists come across as inexperienced and unfriendly. Reception area is in dire need of a good clean as are the treatment rooms.
Fantastic experience: Great Vets and with prices where we all can afford to look after our fur babies.
Fantastic experience: The vets have always been excellent and caring with my cat. I know she would always get the best care possible. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Easipetcare.
Negative experience: My dog has been throwing up for over 12 hours every 5 minutes now, they have told me this is not an emergency or urgent! After speaking with other vets they have advised me this is an emergency and easipetcare have a duty of care to see my dog but they refuse, spoken to multiple people through out the day that have all been very rude and abrupt, the final straw for me was Sarah on reception tell me to call out of hours care at 16:20 but failed to mention that it does not open till 18:30! Clearly just trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible, they don’t care about your dog what so ever, they may be cheap but you get what you pay for in life, this isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue with this vets but it will be the last as I will be taking my dog elsewhere from now on
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated today as a client. I was literally late for 3 minutes ! and the admin informed me that they have moved on. I have mention that I took a day off from work and travel was not easy in this storm conditions. Little do you care about your clients and pets ! My pet is still not well and have to get emergency support. You should be ashamed on how you treat your clients , we are not robots! You didn’t offer an alternative appointment ! Just remember that most of the times we as customers come and wait sometimes 15-20 minutes beyond our appointment and yet no apologies. You lost me as a client and I will deregister all my pets from your practice!
Negative experience: So we have been with Easipet care woodley for 4 years now. However the last 2 years have been the worst. We have booked appointments and got to the practice and then wait 20 minutes to be told sorry but we got to reschedule your appointment. Our dog hates car journeys and we have to travel 30 minutes to there and she hates the vet. So as you can imagine a dog to get worked up for nothing. Plus our dog hurt itself previously and soonest we could get an appointment was 4 days later as they were fully booked. We have now decided to change vets due to this.
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff and vets. Very kind and caring and you don't need a mortgage to be able to pay for the treatments. We don't have any pet insurance.
Fantastic experience: Always get a great service. Knowledgeable vets, helpful receptionists. Would advise booking if you can and their Petcare plans are terrific value
Fantastic experience: I love that these vets really understand the bulldog breed, and that they explain things really well, and take not only my dog's needs seriously, but are also cost conscious - I always feel reassured at the end of our visits!
Negative experience: I had a very poor experience here. I was not able to book an appt for my 4 kittens online so waited 35 minutes on hold on the phone to book an appt. I got an appt a few days later and had to drive 30 miles. Once there they would only see 2 kittens! The staff was unfriendly, unworkable and rude. The vet practise dirty and unsanitary. I will not be returning to this vet and encourage you not to either.
Negative experience: I have used this vets for many years. Sadly my 20 year old cat had become very poorly. The receptionist I spoke to was extremely rude. She showed no empathy when I had to explain the upsetting and desperate situation that my cat was in. It is such a difficult decision to make as a pet owner and the receptionist showed no care or sympathy. I was simply told that I would have to find medical records before she could help. I have since found a new vet who were extremely helpful and empathetic. They asked no questions and were able to help me the same day. I would not recommend and have given 1 star because of the receptionist. It’s clear from other reviews that this receptionist is not appropriate to work in a vets or they need training on customer care.
Fantastic experience: Very good vets and reception staff that will take care of all the needs your pet has. I rate Easy Pet Care higher then one of those high flying vet practices that charge you the earth and I used to be with one for over two decades. After coming to Easy Pet Care in Woodly a few years back, I never went back to the other vet. This was not just down to the lower pricing but also due to the fact that the vets themselves seem more caring and take a lot more time to inspect/investigate what is wrong. I can only highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I love this vets I have used them for years. I have had treatments for My dog Merla, Kitty the cat, Dusty the cat. They have always been so helpful and provided an excellent service. I highly recommend this practice.
Negative experience: The most unwelcoming place on entry. Informed me that they will only operate on her X-ray result but needed a second opinion from a laboratory but I never received this second opinion. Butchered my dog with their incision, endless back and forth visits to have my dogs incision healed together as she had a hole in her abdominal area the size of a 5p coin. One of the nurses thought this was acceptable and rude. They stabled her together whilst she was awake! You could hear her yelp several times. Writing the review to share my experience is blood boiling. I'd advise passionately to seek alternative Vets.
Negative experience: Have used these vets for a number of years ... However have become very unreliable and rude ... Now moved to a professional practice. Whilst probably cheapest around just not worth the stress and hassle using a practice who do not keep appointments and send away your Dog whilst unwell ... Have never been so annoyed after seeing my wife come home in tears
Negative experience: Had a confirmed appointment at 3.15pm for my 14 year old poorly German Shepherd. After waiting until 3.30pm was informed that vet could not see my dog due to an emergency. Then I was informed my dog could only be seen at 5.15pm and told to come back. Then 20 minutes later I was informed vet could not see my dog at all. NO EXPLANATION GIVEN! When I made this appointment I informed the vets that my dog is 14 years old and his mobility is very poor. Also I could not transport him in a car. He was kept in a muzzle for two hours because of this Practice's incompetency. My dog was put through severe distress due to this appalling lack of service from this Vetininary Practice. The vets clearly didn't care despite being fully aware of my dogs circumstances. The vet did not even have the courtesy to come out to speak to me in person to explain DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
Negative experience: Didn't like this place and I won't be going back mainly due to the distance, but they would not let me go with my dog for his final injection, also I found the staff very strange. Once my dog had his injection they just walked off and did not say a word, no after care or anything regarding when he could go out or anything. Also the only parking is pay and display, and the vets is in a really odd place, it can be easily missed if you don't know that it is there.
Fantastic experience: We use your vet practice because you care for our dog as if it was your own and the price is within our budget. Thankyou very much. Kind regards Martin Waistell
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with vet Ioana Craciun, she is amazing, she treated Kenny as her own dog. Even Kenny was happy to see her, even tho Kenny is not so keen on people. Wish she could stay longer in Woodley.
Negative experience: Have been using this practice for some years,l know it has been difficult for all of us, and understand they have only been doing emergency operations. We have all had to be patient. But have phoned now 3 times to try and get some kind of date to have my lady dog spay. Receptionist was not nice actually quiet agresive. Asked ,what, weeks, months, years. Just told put your name on our waiting list, Not very helpful.we Have found another vets that are really professional , ,
Negative experience: I’ve been going to this practice for over 5 years now but haven’t seen someone more unprofessional or uncarring like the lady who answered my phone call. The excuse was “I have people in front of me waiting.” The two stars are strictly for her horrible character as the vets here always been helpful and very knowledgeable.
Dear Andreea, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you were disappointed in the service you received on your last visit to our practice. We will raise this with our reception team.
Fantastic experience: What a great practice. No fuss , no silly prices, good old fashioned veterinary services. Lovely staff and moreover my dog likes it
Fantastic experience: My cat saw an absolutely amazing vet, who tended to a very nervous cat with compassion and understanding and was incredibly patient and professional. Very reasonable prices as well. What more could you want from a vet practice
Negative experience: Took my rabbit in as a matter of urgency, first of all there wasnt a vet on site and secondly they didnt care about my rabbit. More interested in getting a payment from me rather than treating my rabbit with the emergency assistance she needed. Made a payment and still waited a further 15 minutes and in that time my rabbit had passed away in reception. Do not use these vets for rabbits or emergencies. And further more I wouldnt use these vets again ever!!
Fantastic experience: Easipetcare Woodley have always been great with all our pets. They have cared for 5 dogs and 2 rabbits for us so far and I only have praise for the great little practice. The prices are clear and very reasonable. All costs are discussed and agreed before treatment commenced. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We have had one emergency in the 10+ years we have been using the practice, when our rabbit was in rapid decline and needed urgent help. With one phone call we were rushed through to see a vet, ahead of everyone waiting, without an appointment. We were seen immediately by a vet and their intervention saved Blue’s life. This fantastic service was very much appreciated. It is incredibly reassuring to know, from this experience, with the urgency they treated my phone call, we are in safe hands, should we ever need emergency care in the future. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: We are over the moon with the service our spaniel has received before, during and after a major op at Easipets from the receptionist to the orthopaedic surgeon they have all been first class. Highly recommend
Thank you so much Wendy for your kind words :-)
Negative experience: Totally agree with every negative review left with these guys. At late notice they told us we would need to re arrange our visit. As we live in Salisbury, we had to make arrangements with our work to make this trip. We did arrange at a time that suited them. Although we were only 5 minutes late, the brown haired women on front desk was incredibly rude, blunt and told us we may not be able to be seen, despite the fact we were the only people in the waiting room? We had even spent 10 minutes on the answer phone to inform them we would be slightly late, but noone ever picked up. We were eventually seen, and charged £36 for information that we had already told them on the phone, for a 5 minute consultation. All in all very rude staff, we travelled all this way as we were told they would be much cheaper unfortunately they were even more expensive than other quotes we had been given, this is not remotely justified as their customer service is absolutely terrible! DO NOT GO WITH THESE UNLESS EVERY OTHER VET ON THE PLANET IS CLOSED.
Negative experience: Woodley "easipetcare" - The "FAWLTY TOWERS" OF VET PRACTICE. You get the full Basil experience!! Be assured, it might make you laugh to watch on TV, but it is tears of exasperated fury that will be in your eyes when you visit this branch of so called "easipetcare." Our cat has been quite seriously unwell recently and experience in contacting the practice has now taught us that as a matter of "policy" they do NOT answer the phone. This cannot be right, you say. Well, on the first occasion we rang seconds after their 8.00am "opening" time. A full hour later I was still listening to a message about "high volume of calls". I gave my phone to my partner and we drove the 15 miles to the surgery and just as we drove into the car park - they answered the phone!! Today, 8th October, I urgently needed to make an appointment as our cat had been bringing up blood. At exactly 8.00am I rang the practice number simultaneously from both a landline and mobile phone. Got through on both lines and immediately there was a recorded message saying that they were receiving a high volume of calls! As before, cat in the carrier and off to Woodley. Mobile was left switched on but remained unanswered.......... The female person (I cannot call her a "lady") behind reception told me that there was no appointments available and to come back at 4.00PM. When I explained that if they had answered the phone it would have saved us a 30 mile round trip and I raised my voice to ensure that I shared my exasperation with the (very few) people in the waiting room, the situation was handled with great aplomb. Within seconds, a person that I believe was a practice nurse appeared and disappeared with the pet carrier and we were ushered into a side room. She did return, took notes and we were seen by a vet and the cat symptoms were discussed and appropriate advice was given and medication prescribed. To be clear, I was satisfied with the vet care that was provided. However, the "front of house" experience is appalling and the general organisation is abysmal. You are treated with contempt. On previous visits we were, for example, told to wait for an hour because there was a problem with the "rota" as no vet had turned up. E-mails go unanswered. The list goes on. As I left the surgery this morning, I asked for the Head Office address. The "lady" behind the screen said it was not available to her. I asked for her name and she would not give it. I advised the customers in the waiting room that I considered this to be the worst Veterinery Practice in Reading. This did spur the "Receptionist" into action, with great calmness (Basil would truly have been proud of her) she came from behind her screen, opened the door and asked me to leave. easipetcare Woodley - for the full "Basil" experience!! On a positive note, we would generally praise the Vet care our cat received and when you do eventually see a vet, they seem very competent and caring. Evidently they have Vet vacancies and are not fully staffed so there can be a delay in getting appointments - clearly not answering the phone is one way of coping. Now, you may believe this account to be a little "over the top" but there are other reviewers making virtually IDENTICAL comments. But please, make yourself a pot of tea, have a book to read (War and Peace would be suitable) check out the "easipetcare" Website for the Woodley branch, get the phone number and give them a ring.................and whilst you are waiting for them to pick up, have a nice cuppa and read your book. "easipetcare Woodley, it ain't easy, it's disorganised, and although it may be less expensive than other Vet practices, you still do not get the service that you pay for!
Positive experience: I was advised to go here as it is cheaper with faster follow-up times. 1. plenty of public parking (pay and display) 2. subtle welcome 3. not too long to wait to be called in. 4. quick diagnoses and meds offered. But not the cheapest at all 6. follow up appointment seemed a little difficult to arrange as the fluffy family member needed an op. 7. used local to home surgery they were 1/3 cheaper, a couple of days to the operation and even made it cheaper after the operation as they didn't do everything they flt the may need too of done. My local surgery also offered a payment plan which wasn't needed but great to have available.
Negative experience: I feel the quality of service has gone downhill over the past years: difficult to get through on the phone, receptionist less friendly, lack of consistency in care and advice amongst the vets with even conflicting advice, multiple errors on repeat prescriptions and in the end no support for end of life- our dog was diabetic for 6 years with insulin injections twice a day, which I am not sure they followed with enough care and diligence. In the end cancer took over and they were unhelpful in helping us euthanise at home leaving us in a dreadful position to find another local vet or mobile vet to do it. There are some good vets there- particularly Anca, Corinne, Augustin (the good ones leave!) but it’s become a factory- pity as it started well.
Dear Barry, Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you felt let down by our service. It has been a very difficult couple of years. The whole industry is facing significant staff shortages which is making recruitment very difficult. We have a new manager at the practice who will be working with the team to improve practice standards. Anca is a real asset to us so we are very happy to hear you feel the same way!
Fantastic experience: I was made to feel very welcome. They looked after my cat very well. They were all very professional, knowledgeable & friendly. I would highly recommend this veterinary practice.
Positive experience: Usually a great service and I had both our animals neutered there with no problems or complaints at all. Unfortunately our recent appointment fell when they were busy and my full priced ‘consultation’ consisted of a nurse taking my animal in and coming out literally 5 minutes later to tell me what the vet said. Eye drops then cost me approximately £26 for a small 3g tube. A prescription is only £10 and the same eye drops online are under a tenner. (Proof of lower price in photo showing the same drops, same size, same medication, from an online veterinary service) So due to the fact I feel I’ve been taken advantage of, I have dropped what would have been a 5 star review to only 3. Being busy is one thing but I do not appreciate paying over the odds for poor service or medication.
Fantastic experience: Haven't been to easier yet but marrianne was extremely helpful and certainly put my mind at rest. I would definitely recommend this vet. I am booking a check up for my pet. I felt I could trust these guys
Fantastic experience: These vets are so professional and extremely competent. Our little kitten got spayed at this surgery and the before/ after care and information we were given was equal to none. The vet gave us very clear instructions on after care and reassured us in many ways. We would also like to mention how good and reasonable their price was. Fantastic practice with fantastic staff. And our little kitty loves you all.
Negative experience: Unfortunately I took my staffy puppy here 2 years ago and brought her the healthy start pack. At 6 months of age my pup had a UTI, this should have been a simple case of medicine. I payed on the the sum of £50. I returned the following day for her Test results and was told I need to pay a further £150. I thought that was the end of it, until I received a call claiming I have only paid on the first day and owed them £30. After showing my receipts they explained that the £150 had been paid onto the wrong dog. Common sense shows that I was overcharged by £130. Instead of fixing there mistake they passed my details to a debt collector. Who in turn was shocked by how incompetent they are. The collection agency confirmed easy pet care owe me money and not the other way around. To this day easy pet care deny this, they refused the me use of my health start vacineations and will not provide the care I have paid for. I have also noticed that on this google comment feed, easypet care respond as if they have resolved the issues when infact they have not. I understand this is a cheaper service, however after legal battles and a genuine care for animals I could not recommend this service to anyone. I would go as far to call them scam artists who are only after your wallet.
Negative experience: If you care about your fur babies, avoid this veterinary practise at all costs! Absolutely shocking behaviour from members of staff and no consideration for your pets whatsoever! If I was able to give a 0* review, I would have.
Fantastic experience: You can rest assured that your pet will receive the best treatment possible. It is well worth the time travelling a few more miles from your local vets. As if that is not enough, the charges for their services is the best for miles around, I cannot praise their work enough, extremely professional always.
Thank you for your five-star review.
Negative experience: This vet practise are useless, if i left them treating my dog he wouldn't be here today. Was given the wrong amount of medication, a jack Russel dose for a rottweiler , then they didn't give me enough. Didnt answer the phone, then drove there with miserable reception staff sitting next to the phone with people trying to get through. You get what you pay for
Dear Samantha, We are sorry to learn that you were not satisfied with your recent visit to our practice. Our Practice Principal is currently on annual leave but would be very happy to discuss your concerns with you when she returns. If you wish to make a formal complaint please email us at [email protected]. Kind regards, easipetcare Reading
Fantastic experience: I like the service provided and the professionalism of the vets. Costs are fair and reasonable for the services offered and for the medical products used in keeping my Yorkie terrier in tip top shape.
Negative experience: My first and my last visit at Easipetcare. That place looks unwelcoming, dirty and outdated. When I entered the room, the table was still full of fur from the previous visitor. The table was neither cleaned nor disinfected. The vet alone touched my cat without any help and was insecure and even afraid to touch my cat when she was a bit angry then he called his assistant, who also seemed very inexperienced and shy. I am very disappointed because I chose easipet because of the positive reviews.
Negative experience: That's how the vet stapled my poor dog. Staples on top of each other, staples above the cut where they not needed, Half a staple INSIDE the cut itself which was so irritating to the dog. I had to go to another vet on same day to get the job done properly. I sent them an email with the pic to complain 3 weeks ago, till this day heard nothing from them. Not even an apology. If you love your pet DO NOT TAKE IT TO THIS PLACE.
Fantastic experience: Had to take my poorly kitty in on Saturday, staff were able to book us in last minute and were so caring and helpful. The vet we saw was very efficient and quickly diagnosed him. Kitty is now on the mend and back to his usual happy self. Thank you easipetcare
Negative experience: 1 STAR CAUSE 0 IS NOT AVAILABLE! Brought my puppy dogs for a initial check and got an appointment with a man who later on I discovered that he was yhe clinical director, he used a cat vaccine on my puppies!! For those who dont know the gravity of this, This mistake could have got killed my poor babies straight way! Quite negligent and 0 empathic of the whole situation. Tried to talk to the manager because obviously I was so in shock that this happened and she wasnt around and they didnt even know when I would be able to speak to her and anyway he told me that there wasnt much she could do for the sake of the situation! For God sake... you almost kill my puppies and dont even apollogize with me, try to avoid to talk about it and just let it pass by... I cant belive you can look at yourself at the mirror and call you veterinary!
