Fantastic experience: Caring helpful, friendly Vets and Receptionists,nothing too much trouble, My little dog on lead was badly injured by a large off lead dog. She was operated on and within eight weeks, she was back to herself bodily, when I thought she was going to lose her leg. Still very nervous. I couldn't thank them enough. Other tummy upset delt with very quickly. Amazing all round.

Fantastic experience: Our cat needed to have teeth out and investigation into weight loss. The staff and vets here are absolutely exceptional and very caring with our cat. They also managed our insurance claim and when the insurers initially rejected the claim, they challenged it for us and got some of the fees paid. Highly recommend this place

Negative experience: Staff at the vets are awful. Well one particular women, shes foreign with short hair and hates her job. Absolutely no customer service at all. We have now registered elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic customer service and treatment! Had to have an emergency appointment for my poorly puppy, I was seen within minutes! Very professional, helpful advice was given from all the team. Thank you for taking such good care of Lilly! 4 years on and I wanted to post again to say how wonderful Zizia is! Thank you so much for helping our Lilly, for always being there, it is so obvious you really care about the animals you treat. Negative experience: We were previously registered with Vets4pets Chelmsford practice where we had two cats on their pet plan. At our very first appointment, which was for flea and worming treatment, the vet or nurse administered a treatment that cost around £70-£80 without informing us beforehand, even though we were already on the pet plan. While we didn’t make a fuss because mistakes happen, there was no apology or attempt to address the mishap. The main reason we decided to leave the pet plan, however, was due to the receptionist, Shireen Last. Every time we had to interact with her, she was consistently rude and unhelpful. On a couple of occasions, we were charged over £100 when we had only booked an emergency appointment, which they didnt give us anything else other than advice. We had previously been quoted a price of around £60 for such visits. When we asked for a breakdown of the charges, Shireen's response was dismissive and unprofessional. She simply said, *“I’m only going off the system, and I don’t argue with the system—this is how much you need to pay,”* without any effort to explain the costs or clarify the discrepancy. I only wanted to know what we were being charged for, but her attitude made it very difficult to get a straight answer. Unfortunately, most of our visits involved speaking with Shireen, and her unkind demeanor was consistent. On a positive note, though, Vittoria Howard, one of the nurses, was absolutely wonderful. She always took the time to provide thorough explanations and showed genuine care and passion for her job. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and she was always cheerful, kind, and attentive to both me and my cats.

Fantastic experience: So Vets4Pets aren't our normal vets but late Saturday afternoon our cat wandered in with a tick on her back. Our vets were shut. After phoning around and most vets being completely unhelpful and not willing to see her Vets4Pets said they'd see her straight away. We went straight down there, seen within minutes but absolutely wonderful and friendly staff. Wish I'd got their names. Visit date was today 19/10/2024 around 5pm. I can not thank you enough. So wonderfully helpful and FANTASTIC service. Perfect!

Positive experience: I started to use this vet some years ago and was well satisfied, but my last visit I felt that the vet was touting for work. I only went for a kennel cough vaccination but the vet spent some time inspecting my dog, feeling it's tummy and looking at her teeth warning me that she needed dental cleaning under anesthetic etc. yeah right! Her teeth have always been that color. When I told her that I wouldn't be doing that, she then went into the old "as long as you're prepared to have her put down if she gets rotten teeth and pain" routine. We all want to get on don't we, but it seems that some want to get rich unfairly. My daughter took her dog in and got the same sales pitch. If it continues, I will be looking for a new vet.

Negative experience: After 13yrs of being with vets for pets.all I can say is that I'm extremely disappointed with the recent change of management its had, and the lack of consultation given.requests ignored......... gone to a new vet and the difference is amazing.BAD ON YOU VETS FOR PETS.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting for over 8 years now with my retired greyhound King. Having lived in Chelmsford and are now based on Canvey Island I still visit V4P as my primary vet. I was fortunate back in 2015 to sign on for their "Vac4Life" programme and have thus saved a packet over the 8 years I've had him on his injections. However, having adopted an Irish ex-racing dog I have certainly made up for those savings in other aliments & maladies draining my income. The front of house staff, the nurses and the vets have always been a pleasure to deal with and always treated King with utmost respect and care. This was particularly apparent recently when he had to have a toe amputated at the grand age of 14 years 3 months wherein he required multiple visits and become a celebrity. The treatment plan was discussed at length trying various avenues before resorting to general anesthetic. He pulled through and has gone on to make a tremendous recovery. They gave me friend back and for that I am enormously grateful.

Fantastic experience: We recently had to say goodbye to our elderly cat, Smudge. He was 16 years old and had sadly reached the end of the road. We were so very upset at having to say goodbye to him and the staff were all very caring and considerate at our difficult time. The receptionist had to listen to me crying on the phone as I booked the appointment and Gail was so thoughtful in her delivery of what was about to happen. We were given all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. A very sad day was handled with such compassion, we are so grateful to all the staff. We received a condolence card from all at the practice! Such a touching gesture. Thank you all

Fantastic experience: Just want to give 5 stars one of the lovely staff member Gale who helped our cavalier be put to sleep. She was very understanding and explained everything. Our lovely girl went to sleep very peacefully like nothing was happening. Although the practice was very busy with multiple emergencies (and a day before Xmas eve) they managed to fit us in and gave us the time and space to say our goodbyes. Gale was very, diligant, compassionate and professional in a very difficult time for everyone involved. We will be forever grateful

Fantastic experience: Great Vets. So far this Vet clinic has looked after my retriever from puncture wounds, Grass seeds, Vaccines and Castration. Everyone at the practise is friendly and the Vets will always discuss alternative treatment methods or outcomes to put your mind at ease.

Fantastic experience: I was offered a Vet appointment within 2 hours of contacting Chelmsford Branch - I was pleasantly surprised by this. Claire, the Vet who dealt with Flora and I was caring and excellent in the way everything was explained to me and treatment options recommended and costed. Fantastic experience: I was nervous at the start as I had a bad experience at Colchester vets 4 pets. But Chelmsford and all the staff there were so nice and helpful I soon became confident that theses people have my cats in their best interest. I just wondered if in the waiting room they would put up a high platform for putting a cat as I think cats feel more safe being up high while waiting for your appointment. But overall I was very impressed how kind everyone was.

Fantastic experience: Poppy was well looked after, it was clearly explained that we would get a call about 4pm to arrange collection of her between 5-7pm after she had been neutered. I got a call at 4.20 to advise my cat could be collected at 6pm. The surgeon has done a great job she has a small incision & 3 neat stitches.

Fantastic experience: Edited review: I originally gave Vets for Pets a 5 star review but felt I should update my original generic review due to my personal experience with them. I have been going to this practice for about 15 years and the vets and all the staff are just fantastic. I had an issue with my pet insurance a few years back and the senior practitioner wrote an excellent email to them on my behalf which turned the claim around. Most recently, we had to say goodbye to our beloved family pet and the level of care, compassion and sensitivity was just wonderful. We even recieved a condolence card through the post a week later signed by the staff which was a really lovely gesture. I wouldn't trust anyone else with any future furry (or non furry) family member.

Fantastic experience: I took my dog for her routine vaccinations but as she had been sick the previous day it was decided it was in the dogs best interest to defer them. We then discussed her sickness issues and went back through all her previous tests etc even though this is not what the appointment was for. Gail's attention to my dog was incredible.

Fantastic experience: Always great with my Grayhound. They talk through any issues, give advice, let you know how you could reduce any long term issues from starting. I do feel they care about the animals, and if there is a way to make the medication cheaper they let you know.

Fantastic experience: Quick appointment after phone call, appointment on time, after consultation the vet explained to me the problem and the procedure used to rectify the problem my cat Oscar was having, very pleased to say that Oscar is well now, so pleased how everything went with the procedure carried out by the vet, also would like to say all the staff not only the vet but the receptionists as well were all very helpful and friendly, I would certainly be recomending Vets4Pets, many thanks indeed.

Positive experience: The vets are very good but the receptionists are just dim. They never look up from their screen so you end up just stood there at the counter being ignored and feeling like a plum. When they do EVENTUALLY acknowledge you they never have a bloody clue what is going on. It took over 30 minutes for me to just collect some pre-ordered flea treatment, it is like this everytime! They always try to charge me too, even thought I am on the prepaid plan!!!! Please train your reception staff, your front of house customer service is really letting you down and I dread having to come in to collect anything!
