Vets for Pets - Amesbury

Negative experience: Lied about my dogs health, spoiler he died that night. They had him for 12 hours whilst he died slowly and in pain. He didn’t even know I was there in his final minutes. Took my best friend

Fantastic experience: The kindness of the team at this Vets means I can recommend them. They have helped me out once when I need an urgent, huge cone of shame for my dog, and then to read a microchip and help me find a lost dog it's owner. Really lovely, genuine team and I had a really good experience with these kind souls.

Negative experience: Very much a business based on processing as many customers as possible, not a friendly old fashioned vet. Not cheap. Floor always seems grubby and must be crawling in whatever previous patients had.

Fantastic experience: I came here with my hamster Reggie when he was very ill. We had no insurance and have never had to go to a vet before. They were so lovely when we called, asked us to fill out some paperwork and we're seen the same day. Unfortunately he didnt get any better so we had to put him down, we rang up and we were able to get an emergency appointment straight away. The staff were honestly so lovely and polite, and made us feel welcome even though we were sad. They told us the options we had and discussed cremation, and other options that were available. They were honestly so lovely and I couldn't ask for a better vets. I would definitely recommend these to anybody.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and effficient service. I registered my cat after we moved to the area and scheduled an appointment within a few days. Got some meds and my cat is now on the mend :-)

Negative experience: £54 for 5 mins of partially checking my dogs left ear so say “I don’t know, I can’t see anything” is daylight robbery, meant to offer military discount too! I’ll be looking for a different vet I think!

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with one of my stray farm cats, happily made an emergency appointment to see her, was seen within 20mins from phoning! Unfortunately the outcome wasn't great but the team were very empathic and supportive. My other two house cats are registered here and the staff are absolutely amazing. Can't fault them. Honestly the best vets around! Would definitely recommend vets 4 pets and the team!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic care. When my old dog Mutley died I couldn't of had more love and care. Even Jo the nurse made and imprint of my dogs paw. Which was so wonderful and all in her own time. We now have a dog with an ongoing skin condition and receiving great care again with our 2 dogs.

Fantastic experience: My dog has been receiving Laser treatment for arthritis. Everything was explained, I was given time to decide on if to proceed with treatment, and I felt no pressure to have the treatment. At every visit I am asked how she has been doing, and after treatment I am updated on how she is doing with the treatment. Everyone has been so pleasant and helpful, especially Claire who did her physio prior to the laser treatment. Sam the vet has been very helpful, suggesting things that would help, and on reducing her a Rheumacam.

Fantastic experience: I really liked the cat only waiting area, everything went smoothly. Their technique and handling and friendliness was brilliant. There knowledge was great and they way they explained this to me and the best plan for my cat

Fantastic experience: I have always found this practice to have your pets interest at the heart of their care. They always remember my 2 dog’s names and make you feel welcome. I have used other practices in the past and found them to be cold and just after milking as much money as possible and not always to your pets care. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

Straight to see the nurse who then consulted with the vet. Explained our options. Told me the price. Then agreed the plan. My dog was back with me in under an hour feeling a bit sorry for herself but a lot better. Great service

Fantastic experience: First time visit to vets4pets with my 10 year old ginger male cat, (much loved) uti suspected, dealt with quickly, very happy with the treatment Rafa received, Rafa for the 1st time ever (on a vets visit) relaxed and was totally chilled. From my initial phone call at 9.30am to my visit at 11am all was dealt with with care and efficiency. Have now registered Rafa and my other cat Autumn with you. Thank you for such good service.

Fantastic experience: We were treated with compassion regarding the sad situation with Tiggers health at 17.5 yrs he gave us so much fun and love, but the vet , Iris, explained all options and allowed us time to digest and decide, as much as it pains us to let him go, 2 days later returning with him and Tom was so good with us showing empathy care and compassion explaining the process . respecting our wishes and not rushing us . whilst it was incredibley hard for us and Tigger went peacefully . free of discomfort and any pain .. allowing us some quiet time with him to say our final goodbyes, Thank you all

Negative experience: March 2022 and still waiting outside on a windy and cold day unable to enter the vets with my pet due to wokery OTT Covid-19 restrictions. Staff were a little rude (talk down to) and patronising but other than that, all ok.

The sign on the door that states you still have to ring before entering when you have an appointment could be bigger as you can't see it from the car and the print is rather small, I got out the car and unloaded our rabbit got to the door and then had to go back in the car to phone reception to let them know we where outside.

Positive experience: The vet was running about 25 minutes late meaning we had to sit and wait in the car with our cat but apart from that it was a great experience. The price was fair and they did not pressure us into getting anything and we felt wasn't necessary. We will be returning here when we need a vet again

Negative experience: Called V4P on Friday because my dog had stopped barking and was coughing/wheezing/gagging. They gave me an appointment for Monday. I asked if they had any earlier appointments. The receptionist said she would speak to the vet. The vet apparently told her they wanted to keep the other appointments for 'real' emergencies. So my dog has spent the weekend struggling to breathe, constantly coughing and generally feeling sorry for himself. Even my GP would give me an emergency appointment quicker and that's saying something given the way GP appointments run ATM and that I pay a monthly subscription for this... Don't even get me started on the trouble I've had getting the flea and worm treatment from them or that I had to take him to a professional groomer to get his nails trimmed at additional cost because they couldn't do it or the initial appointment I booked but they cancelled because I needed to respond to the booking confirmation email only it never stated that. It's not really very professional or fair. So far I've only spent out in monthly direct debits and not got much in return. The least I expect is my pet seen when they are sick as would anyone.
